9 Weeks of Growth: What Happened at Blooming Buds Summer Camp

Child Development

Sep 1, 2026

Summer is officially over.

This past Friday, we gathered under the big top for the End of Summer Carnival. Confetti. Laughter. Friends. And for a moment, time stood still — because we all knew we were witnessing something special.

For nine weeks, our Blooming Buds campers showed us what transformation looks like.

The shy kid who barely spoke in June? By August, they were leading their group.

The toddler who clung to their parent at drop-off? By the third week, they were running to camp with pure excitement.

The child who said "I can't"? By the carnival, they were saying "I did it."

That's not an accident. That's intentional.

Every week brought something new.

Imagination took flight. Rockets were built. Farms were discovered — sheep cupcakes made, animals painted across canvas. Astronauts celebrated. Art and nature intertwined. Kids swam, climbed walls, kicked soccer balls, and discovered what their bodies could actually do.

Summer was packed with learning moments, joyful play, caring teachers, and fun activities. Screens were forgotten. Memories were made.

Here's what really mattered:

Every day, kids were truly seen. Not just watched — seen. Low ratios meant every child had a teacher who believed in them, who celebrated their wins, who supported them through the hard moments.

They learned that trying matters more than being perfect. That their friends matter. That they belong here.

Summer ended. But what they discovered about themselves? That stays.

The friendships won't fade. The courage they built is real. The memories will shape how they see themselves — as brave, capable, worthy of love and attention.

This is what Blooming Buds is.

Year-round. Welcome to fall.
